Day two of the 33-26 ride for Charity: Water started from Maitland and meandered through some stunning Hunter region countryside. We were whizzing along under bluebird sky through Dungog and the undulation of Old Stroud road and the Buckets Way to our lunch stop at Gloucester. As we pushed north on the Thunderbolt Way things really started to heat up and the climbing got serious. The climb up the range to Nowendoc left a mark on every single rider in the group as the road jacked up to 15+ % gradient for several kilometers. The group splintered as we climbed and trickled into the very small town of Nowendoc. 200km on the odometer, 3,786 meters of climbing and 7hr 32 minutes ride time.
